Carlo Magno Pedro
Carlo Magno is ceramist artist from San Bartolo and an art authority for Oaxaca popular art and craft. His work has been exhibited in Mexico, the U.S. and Europe and he has been recognized as an artist as well as an artisan. He is founder and director of the Museo Estatal de Arte Popular de Oaxaca (MEAPO) in his hometown. He has written numerous articles and is regularly invited to be part of juries for craft and art contest.
In 2014, Carlo Magno was awarded by the prestigious Mexico's National Prize for Arts and Sciences (as well as other prizes like Gran Premio de Arte Popular (Queretaro) and Premio Nacional de la Juventud en Arte Popular-CREA).
